ROBBI Alpha 10 & Alpha 12
Hydraulic Surfacing Machines
The Model ALPHA 12 Hydraulic Surface Grinder is equipped for surfacing 14.17" x 47.24" and has a maximum height under the wheel of 29.53". The net weight of the machine is 3,747 lbs (1,700 kgs).
ROBBI Surface Grinders feature 2 spindle speeds, 700 and 1400rpm and are equipped as standard with hydraulic traverse, a segmented grinding wheel with abrasive segments and a fly cutting attachment for aluminium with two cutting tools. Recently we have sold a number of special versions of the Alpha 10 and 12, featuring the latest advances in tooling and technology. These include a milling head with CBN and PCD tool holders and tips, enabling the high speed machining of both cast iron and aluminium heads.
Either machine can be supplied as a pure milling machine, or with full grinding capabilities, and a choice of either a ball screw or hydraulics for table traverse.
Power raise and lower of the wheel head is included as standard on these special machines. This not only facilitates faster changeover times from heads to blocks, but also speeds up setting times in general. The spindle motor features an inverter, providing infinitely variable spindle rotational speeds from 0 – 1,700 rpm. Similarly with the ball screw for table traverse, table feed speeds can also be varied between 0 -1500mm/min.
A noticeable advantage of the ball screw, over hydraulics for the table traverse, is that the table can be slowed down to the point where it becomes very hard to detect the table movement at all.
