The PEG FM1 hand or power driven tool effectively produces valve seats with three angles in one operation.

It can also be used to bore insert recesses. The cutter support is magnetically clamped either onto the head itself or a fixture plate in the case of light alloy cylinder heads. The quill is mounted in a ball, this allows alignment to the pilot, which is fixed in the guide.

The base is then magnetically clamped and the ball lever-locked prior to machining. As the machine uses the same pilots as the PEG Model 10, which do not rotate with the tooling, sizing is more reliable than when the pilot rotates with the cutter head.

The 3-blade cutters used are the industry standard ROTTLER/KWIK-WAY type.
